Do the following: Use context clues to try to figure out what each question means, and try to anticipate synonymous expressions (i.e., if the question asks about something that happened "en el pasado," perhaps "antes" will be used in the audio.) (This will help with comprehension and let your brain tap into prior knowledge of the theme/topic.) Next carefully read each of the questions-and multiple choice answers. ![]() Read the "introduction" that puts the audio in a context. MPORTANT: You CAN'T write anything down during this time (i.e., you can't translate the questions into English, make notes, etc.) * Before each audio is played, there is a four-minute "reading period." Do the following: Audio C will be up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Audio B will be up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Audio A, the first audio, will be up to 2 minutes in length. * Each audio will increase in difficulty, speed, and length. Per IB's Language B Guide, the audio may be taken from media texts (films, radio and television programs) oral texts (presentations, debates, interviews, speeches, recorded conversations) video-sharing websites, etc. * Three audio texts will be played featuring any of the five IB themes. (Reading is also 25% of the overall grade.) Listening is worth 25% of the overall IB grade. * The listening section is 1 hour and is part of the 2-hour Exam Paper 2 (reading/listening).
